Since 1928, Black Rock Sports Club has been bringing the Bayside community together through sport, friendship and a proud tradition of tennis excellence.

Senior Competition Tennis

Entries for the upcoming Saturday afternoon winter competition will open soon,
with teams available for men and women across all playing levels.

Competition formats include:

  • Singles and doubles
  • Doubles only
  • Mixed doubles

Players may also have the occasional opportunity to compete on the Club’s grass courts.

Led by High Performance Coach Rob Leeds, the BSG Coaching Team delivers professional coaching for players of all ages and abilities, from beginners through to elite competitors.

A Pathway for Every Player
Our comprehensive coaching program includes Fundamental Motor Skills, Hot Shots, junior development, performance squads, adult coaching and the popular Thursday night Cardio Tennis sessions—providing a clear development pathway at every stage.

BSG Coaching Programs

BSG offers a complete coaching pathway for players of all ages and abilities, from early skill development through to competitive junior and adult tennis.

  • Fundamental Motor Skills for children (aged 3–8)

  • Hot Shots for children aged 5–10

  • Yellow Ball Junior Group Coaching for ages 9–16

  • Junior Squad Training across red, orange, green and yellow ball levels

  • Cardio Tennis

  • Adult Coaching

  • Tactics, Tea and Coffee

  • Stroke of the Month

All junior students are encouraged to represent Black Rock Sports Club in competitive tennis. The Club fields multiple teams across a range of levels, with competitions available throughout the year.

No tennis partner? Looking to sharpen your skills or practise with friends? Club Coach Rob Leeds can help with coaching, group sessions and tailored practice options for players of all levels.

You can even train independently using Rob’s ball machine.

Are visitors able to play at the non-competition sessions?

Yes! Visitors are welcome to join the non-competition sessions. They can also book a court for personal use.

Can I use a ball machine on any of the courts?

No. The grass surface is too fragile for that type of practice and ball machines can only be used on the en tou cas courts.

Do I need to water the grass tennis courts?

Yes! As our new courts are still settling they need to be watered before and after each game.

Do the en-tout-cas courts need to be bagged after use?

Yes! the en-tout courts need to be bagged and watered between sets and at the end of play.

Can I wear any footwear when playing?

No! You must wear correct tennis footwear on the courts.

How long can I book a tennis court for?

Two-hour blocks are currently the limit for any one member per day.
