Abide by Tennis Australia's code of conduct.
Display consistently high standards of good sportsmanship and fair play at all times.
Audible Obscenity rule: prohibits the use of profane words loud enough to be heard by other players, spectators or neighbours to the club.
Follow the rules and be honest with your line calls.
Uphold the spirit of tennis, even when you're losing.
Always try your best and value good sportsmanship over winning.
Demonstrate graceful losing and humility in winning.
Never condone rule violations, unfair or unduly rough play.
Don't hit or throw balls angrily or dangerously, either on or off the court.
PARENTS/
GUARDANIANS
Abide by Tennis Australia's code of conduct.
Adhere to club policies, including smoke-free areas and liquor licensing requirements.
Always respect officials' decisions.
Show respect, support and encouragement to all players, regardless of their talent level.
All children at the BRSC tennis club need to be supervised by a parent or guardian, including but not limited to Red, Orange and Green ball fixtures players.
BRSC and Tennis Australia have a zero-tolerance policy for negative sideline behaviour. The following actions are not tolerated:
Verbal abuse towards any player, coach or official
Criticising children, especially in public
Arguing with officials or challenging decisions
Disrespectful body language (e.g. angry gestures
SPECTATORS/
ALL ATTENDEES
Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person, regardless of gender, ability, cultural background or ethnicity.
Adhere to club policies, including smoke-free areas and liquor licensing requirements.
Never behave in a manner that would damage the reputation of the club, on or off the court.
Be open, welcoming and inclusive to all members and visitors.
Never use offensive language or behaviour towards any person, or engage in bullying of any kind.
Report inappropriate behaviour to the BRSC Committee.
The purpose of this Code of Conduct is to ensure that the BRSC community has a clear understanding of the behaviour that is expected, so that breaches of this code are well understood and BRSC remains a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone.
All members and attendees of Black Rock Sports Club are bound by this Code of Conduct as a condition of club membership and attendance.
This code is to be read in conjunction with the BRSC Constitution, ground and facility rules, and the rules and policies of Tennis Australia.
Breaches of this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action by the BRSC Committee, up to and including suspension or termination of membership.
