The Board
Brent has been a Black Rock resident for 10 years. He is married to Siobhan with a family of three, all of who are actively engaged in community sports.
Brent is a small business owner and an keen tennis player, although he doesn't hit the courts as frequently as he would like.
As President, Brent believes that community clubs are a valuable asset and need to be supported if they are to survive. BRSC is a diamond and Brent's motivation is to ensure it has the strong financial foundation to ensure it serves the community for another generation.
Brent encourages all members to get involved and volunteer some time and expertise – the future of the club depends on your participation.
Magda loves tennis so much that she specifically bought their family home due to its proximity to BRSC. That was 14 years ago. Now, the whole family plays tennis, have been members since they moved in and are all coached by Rob Leeds at the club.
Magda is also the local Black Rock dentist who enjoys being part of her local community.
As Vice President, Magda is committed to contributing in whatever way she can to help BRSC be a friendly and well organised place to enjoy with friends, and family.
Alan has lived in Highett with his wife Alison for 28 years. He has 2 grown daughters.
Alan is a keen tennis player and has been a member of the BRSC for 18 years and the Board Treasurer for 6 years.
Alan loves the open space of the Club and the trees from the golf course to our east and the park to our west. Makes for a great natural environment for sport and community.
Alan's contribution to the Board draws upon his 30 years of experience in management within the health and community sector.
He is involved and contribute to the Club and Board as he believes in the need for community infrastructure that supports and creates community engagement, and the need for us all to be physically active on a regular basis.

Nathan Manning

Nathan has been a local in Bayside for the last 10 years and a BRSC member for the last 6 years.
He enjoys tennis, golf and lawn bowls.
Nathan has a background in project management. He brings to the board skills in project management, compliance and forward planning.
Nathan is an active member in sports and socially. He looks forward to meeting members on the green, courts or in the clubhouse.
John McLoughlin

John has been a Sandringham local for 15 years and a member at BRSC for 6 years. He was a member previously when his two sons had tennis lessons about 10 years ago.
John is an enthusiastic tennis player and golfer. More recently John is enjoying bowling with the club in competition and socially.
As a board member John enjoys meeting new members and catching up with existing members as we strive to make BRSC the #1 Community club in Bayside.
Don McKellar

Don has lived in Bayside since the 1950s and has been a member of the BRSC since 2005.
He initially played in the night competition that won multiple premierships and had numerous other finals appearances. Don began playing pennant in 2020/21 and has been an active bowler ever since.
Professionally, Don has been involved in the IT industry since 1968 and has been running IT companies since 1980.
Don is a racehorse breeder and runs a farm with over 50 horses and 100 cattle.
Don understands the need for members to be involved in administration of their clubs, he has served as a President, Secretary, Treasurer and sponsor at various clubs and is a Life Member of the Sandringham Football Club.
Venue & Functions
Bob has been a hospitality employee for over 30 years. Working as a chef to running events for
20,000+ people, hospitality is in his blood. What Bob likes about being at the BRSC is the members and the sense of community.
The bowlo is where he feels most comfortable and it is a privilege and a pleasure working for the members of Bayside’s hidden gem.
